Meet the guys behind this: Cristiano & Marco

Cristiano Norbedo

Vetted producer and musician, known for working with mainstream Italian artists like Marco Mengoni, Elisa or Alessandra Amoroso. He also worked in tv shows like X Factor and Amici.

Marco Rossetti

Music producer with a strong sound engineer background. Notable events: Trieste Estate, The Elton Show European Tour, University of Trieste - Music for TV spot.

We started Music Production Lab because we know the overwhelming feeling you get when you first start producing music.

Marco vividly remembers being lost in a sea of information when he first got into producing.

Lack of information wasn't the problem - it was the when and how (and why) to use it.

This was before meeting Cris, who took him under his wings of decades-long music and production experience and sat him down on the cushy chair of his professional studio.

But not everyone gets this lucky.

So now that we are a duo, they made it their mission to help beginning producers by bringing clarity to the music production process, so that they can step into the industry with strong foundations they can build upon.

Luca Perossa
Singer

I just completed the advanced workshop and it was a fantastic experience!

The course is well structured, with a great balance between theory and practice. The teachers are true experts in the field and the small group setting makes learning very effective.

I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to become a music producer.

Student, Singer, Songwriter

As an emerging songwriter
I’ve attended both of the two workshops, and I would do them all over again!

They are the perfect way to begin your journey into music production, by providing not only the basic tools to create your own songs but also to analyze your favorite ones.

I would recommend it to anyone who has a great curiosity for music and wants to know all the work behind it.

Robert Macovei
Guitarist and songwriter

Cristiano and Marco, in a easily digestible way, opened a new way of understanding music that completely changed my approach to it.

Throughout the course, we focused on a detailed analysis of the song, recording, sound research, and technical processing - and I learned how crucial even the smallest details are in music production.

FAQ

For Italians: Sono italiano e il mio inglese non è molto buono. Posso venire comunque?
Sì! Le nostre lezioni sono bilingue: faremo il workshop sia in italiano che in inglese.
What's the max amount of people attending the course and why?
We have a limit of 8 people per course, so that everyone can add something of themselves to the production. The places are limited because we want every participant to take the most out of the experience.
Do I need to be a musician to participate in the workshops?

Absolutely not! But if you are also a musician, it's a great plus - you'll be able to put your musical skills to practice during the recording and arrangement stages of the production.

What are the prerequisites for the advanced workshop?

To participate in the advanced course, it's mandatory that you already have some experience with recording and producing.

It's dedicated to people that already know the fundamentals of things like recording, signal flow, and how to use the basic tools in a home studio or in a studio. We'll definitely go over the fundamentals again, but it's important that we have time to go deeper into each topic without having to explain the basics.

And because we want everyone to take the most of the workshops, the advanced workshop has a selection process.

Why should I attend these workshops?

There is an information overflow out there about music production - so the main goal of our workshops is to get you clear on 3 things:

  1. what you know and what you don't know,
  2. what's useful to you and when,
  3. where are your blind spots that you need to fill either by further practice and education, or by teaming up with the right people.

Once you're clear on this, you'll be able to start and finish any production by yourself.

What should I bring with me?

If you participate in the advanced course, we encourage you to bring your previous productions with you! After the course, we'll have some time to listen to them together, analyze them, and see how you would improve the tracks with the newly acquired knowledge from the workshop.
